مظاهرات في دمشق تطالب بطرد "الإرهابيين" من سوريا

Dozens of residents from the Christian community in Damascus organized protests in several neighborhoods of the capital, including Al-Qassaa, Dewailaa, and Bab Toma, in response to the attack targeting the Dewailaa Church. The protesters raised Syrian flags and slogans condemning the assault.

The demonstrators reaffirmed their complete rejection of the attack on the church, calling for an immediate investigation and bringing the perpetrators to justice. They emphasized the importance of strengthening national unity and protecting religious sanctities, highlighting the need for social cohesion and solidarity, and rejecting any attempts to dismantle the Syrian social fabric. Protesters also held banners calling for maintaining security and stability in the country.

Regarding recent developments, sources from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that a violent explosion shook Mar Elias Church in the Dewailaa neighborhood of Damascus, caused by a suicide bombing during Sunday Mass. This incident is considered the first of its kind in years in the Syrian capital.

The attack resulted in the death and injury of at least 30 Christian civilians, with hundreds wounded in the terrorist act that targeted the church, which was filled with worshippers at the time of the explosion.

The Observatory warned of the presence of terrorist cells in southern Damascus that aim to target social peace and sacred sites, seeking to dismantle the social fabric and create chaos and unrest in the country.
